Rachael and I (mostly Rachael though) have spent many months and countless hours designing and coming up with this new branding that perfectly illustrates us as portrait and wedding photographers. I can't really describe how amazing Nephi and Celeste are in words. We met them a few years ago at their friends wedding that we were shooting. I remember Nephi was tearing up the dance floor while his lovely girlfriend Celeste watched. I secretly hoped that one day they would ask us to photograph their wedding. I was so glad that they did (even though I was going to be 38 weeks pregnant) and can't wait to show you their beautiful wedding day. First the engagement session:

*I am convinced that only beautiful people play the harp, Celeste being one of them. It is such a gorgeous instrument and was excited when she brought it to use as a prop.

Ventola 10th Wedding Anniversay Party

We were thrilled when Kym Ventola asked us to shoot a photobooth at her 10th wedding anniversary party last November. The whole party was carnival themed, including caricature artists and cotton candy, so how could we say no. :) We had such a great time and loved looking back on this fun night.

*Sidenote: If I am remembering correctly, the lovely lady on the far right of this photo was the last of this group to be pregnant and she gave birth to her son a couple weeks ago. I am awesome at blogging! haha :)

When Donna, the owner and creator of Dressing on the Side t-shirts contacted us to do a portrait session featuring her cute t-shirts, we couldn't have said "YES!" fast enough. Then she told us about her idea of "glamping" mixed with inspiration of the beautiful movie Out of Africa and we were pretty much out the door to Prescott. We are so honored that Donna asked us to shoot this session. She really did a fabulous job styling and putting all of this together. Even when it started to rain and we were quickly covering up vintage chairs and tents, it couldn't have turned out any better. Thank you again for choosing us to be a part of it! :)

This year we have done a lot of "just because" sessions with couples who are newly married. We love these types of shoots because it is such an awesome time in the couples life to capture. So we were super excited when Nicole contacted us for a session this past Summer. We instantly bonded with Nicole & Brady over our mutual love for Mad Men and Flight of the Conchords. They are such a fun couple and we were excited to find out they are expecting a baby boy in January. :)

I could have taken their photos all day just to be around and feel of the love they have for one another. Thank you all for the comments and congrats on our last post. Brandon and I are very excited and can't wait to meet him or her (which we find out next week, HOORAY!).

I am excited to share Danielle and Brian's wedding today. They got married last July at the Mesa Arizona Temple. I meet Danielle in college, where we were both going to school for Interior Design. We quickly became great friends through the stress of design school. Camping in Globe, getting kick out of the CAD lab for being there to late, and loudly laughing while playing board games are some of my favorite memories with her. Later when Brandon got home from his mission (and we got married) and Danielle went off to Utah to go to BYU (and would later meet Brian), we lost touch for a little while. I was so so so excited when I found out she was getting married to Brian and even more excited when she decided for us to be her wedding photographers. Danielle and Brian are perfect together. They really have the most amazing love and I loved watching them on that hot day in July.

I loved the color palette that Danielle and Brian choose. All those color classes in college finally paying off. ;) Her flower bouquet was so beautiful and it is one of my most favorite I have ever seen.

The reception was so beautiful and with so many awesome details. They really transform a regular church hall into something unique and special.

A couple months ago we had a family portrait giveaway on Busy Bee Lauren's blog. If you are not familiar with Lauren, she is an awesome local AZ blogger, who writes about anything lovely. Well, surprise (we swear it was totally random) Lauren's mom won the giveaway! Turns out they had not had a family portrait (besides weddings) in many years. So I was excited to get the opportunity to give them a portrait session. Lauren has such a beautiful family and it was so much fun getting to meet them all.

Kyran is such an rad teenager. We met her at a wedding we were photographing last fall and was super excited when she contacted us to do her high school Grad photos. She has the prettiest eyes, perfect freckles and best laugh. Her mom also told us she is amazing at everything! On Varsity Basketball and Track/Field while still being in all AP honors classes. She was selected to go to Ireland and represent the Phoenix Sister Cities Exchange program last Summer and is super active in her church. Colorado is super lucky to have her this fall and we wish her all the luck in the next chapter in her life.

Clara Bell Fuller

Clara Bell Fuller is my Grandma, my dad's mom. She was raised and lived in a tiny mining town called Mammoth in the San Pedro Valley in Arizona. She was the oldest of 7 and the only one of her siblings to graduate from College. She got a teaching degree from ASU in 1939. She taught elementary school in Mammoth for 40 years until she retired. She had 2 children, my dad and my Aunt, 12 Grandchildren and 23+ Great Grandchildren. She was and is a great example to all us. Always teaching us how to be a hard worker and how important education is. My Grandma passed away last month at the age of 95. We will all miss her deeply.

The following photos where taken a few weeks before she passed away. We were all together celebrating my niece's baby blessing. This was the last time most of us saw her and I will always cherish these photos.

Her funeral was March 20th in Mammoth, AZ. Although it was such a hard day for me personally, it was filled with family and friends of my Grandma. So many people came to celebrate my Grandma's life and they all were influenced by her in some way.

*My amateur attempt of a panorama of the view in front of my Grandma's grave site. Such a beautiful view of the mountains and valley.

After we went back to my Grandma's home and talked about our favorite memories of her.

*All of my siblings remember swinging on these swings when we would visit. It was touching seeing my nieces, nephews and cousins kids playing on it.

This post was mainly written and put together for my family. To everyone else, I hope I was able to convey how much I love her and will miss her.

Once a month my friend Angie and I get together to have craft night. Last month it was making cake plates out of plates and candle sticks and this month it was making funny bunny's. We got the idea from Elsie, our favorite craft blog. Even though they are far from perfect and it took us about 4 hours, I think they turned out cute. Angie's is the pink one and mine is the blue one.

*I like how it looks like my bunny is poking Angie's. Really, I just sewed the arm on wrong. :)

Holy cow, I am so excited for the new and definitely 1000% improved blog design! Ellie from Rainy Day Templates is a miracle worker and creates the cutest semi-custom blog templates. The best part was I didn't have to switch to another blog format, which is what I was trying to avoid. Bigger pictures, easy to navigate and much cleaner. Thanks Ellie, you are the bomb.com! :) Also the new web address for the blog is http://www.lowephotos.info/. It takes a day to switch over, so lowephotography.blogspot.com is still the address until tomorrow. Hooray for getting a new, professional look!

Meri & Chris are such a sweet couple. They had a beautiful backyard wedding this past June (told ya I was behind in blogging!) Surrounded by family and friends, you could feel their love the entire day. Meri and Chris really planned out every lovely detail for their special day. From building the pergola in their backyard to Meri sculpting those adorable birds to adorn the top of their wedding cake, everything was homemade with love.

It was a very cold and blustery day in October, probably the coldest day this year. I couldn't have ask for a more fantastic family then the Busch family. T was a normal 14 month old: jumping, playing, laughing and running away from the crazy people with the cameras. The Busch's were so patient with me and Brandon as we photograph their family. Here are some my favorites from their session. :)

I think Rachel looks so beautiful in this totally candid picture. She was helping her daughter put on her shoe, something she probably does 1,000 times a day. But I love the look of love on her face, like she would rather not be anywhere else.

Brandon is my everything and I am so grateful that he was born 25 years ago today. I am so happy that we fell in love when we were 17 and get to spend eternity together.

He is seriously so amazing at photography. Recently Brandon has picked up a passion in photographing live bands. He even started his own photography blog Lovely Dancing Lights. I took this picture at a concert we went to together. I was so amazed watching him work his magic.

I love this picture of him and Gidget. He is going to be an amazing father one day!

October seriously flew by and now the holidays are right around the corner. I wanted to updated everyone on the October promotion since it is now the start of November. A chance to give...

We have been thinking for a long time of something amazing that we could do to give back to the world. I was talking with a good friend and he got me thinking of what is really important in my life right now. Most people know that a year ago I had a pregnancy end in miscarriage. It was one of the hardest trials that we had to go through. Ever since then we have been trying to think of a good way to give back and help those who are going through the same hard experience as we did. I started researching charities and March of Dimes really stood out to me. The more I researched March of Dimes, the more I knew I wanted to be involved.

For those who don't know exactly what the March of Dimes Foundation does, here is the explanation from their website.

"Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birth weight."

So here is the plan:

And here is how it works; you email me today, book your session (family, seniors, maternity, newborn, kid) to be in the month of October, you pay the normal portrait session fee of $125, you get a disc of ALL your edited images, then I send $25 of your session fee to March of Dimes. You don't have to do anything plus you get amazing pictures and bonus the amazing feeling of helping those in need.

As extra incentive, all those who book an October session will be put into a drawing for a $50 Visa Gift Card that you can use anywhere. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season!! All those who have already booked in October will be part of the drawing and charity as well. :)

Jenny & Steven are some of our greatest friends. Steven and Brandon meet years ago in a prep class before they left for two years on missions for our church. Leaving me and Jenny to patiently wait for the day that we get to see our future husbands again. We got married, then they got married. They bought a house, then we bought a house. We got a dog, then they got a dog. They are super adorable and super smart and we are lucky to have them as friends. Plus who else would we watch Mad Men with?! P.S. I loved this idea that I saw on Oh Happy Day from Martha Stewart Weddings. It is pretty and also very inexpensive to decorate with paper. I think the paper chains and laterns would be fun hanging from a tree at a backyard reception. I love what it said on Martha Stewart,

"All you have to do to get these bold, bright, and blissfully budget-friendly paper decorations is unfold -- and behold."

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago I married my sweetie Brandon in the Mesa Arizona Temple. It is crazy how much I love him! Here are some details that I remember about August 5th, 2006.

* It was crazy hot! I think it was 110 that day!
* We took our pictures before we actually got sealed in the Temple, around 8am or so. We had about an hour between pictures and having to be in the Temple, so we went to Sonic to cool off! I still laugh at the thought of me in my wedding dress and Brandon in his suit, sitting in the Sonic drive thru! :)
* The church where we had our reception that night had decided that weekend was the perfect weekend to re-landscape and pave the parking lot. So the parking lot was just dirt and there was no sidewalks around the church. Wood planks were used to lead people up the doorways. Super classy! :)
* Our families spent so much time decorating and helping with food. I don't remember being stressed out at all. I will forever be greatful!
* Up until maybe a year ago, I still found confetti in my car. My friends decorated it really really good!

500 Days of Summer

Rarely does a movie affect me the way that "500 Days of Summer" does. I think it is because I see a little bit of myself in the main boy character that Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays. He is stuck in a boring job mainly because of the security not because he likes it. Most people know that I was laid off from my job last month. Although I was sad/scared for our future at first. I am now super excited that I get to spend all my time and energy towards what I really love, my photography business. Anyways, it is such a cute film and I think everyone needs to see it. Plus I might have a huge girl crush on Zooey Deschanel and her wardrobe. :)

We went to a free screening in Scottsdale. All you have to do is go to the official website, find the next showing near you and RSVP. If not then it officially comes out in limited release July 17th. Also the screenings are a first come, first serve basis so make sure you go early so you get a seat. Our screening was completely full 30 minutes before.

Melissa and John love to dance. They love dancing ssssooo much that John even wrote a song for Melissa called "I Love You More Then Dancing". Cute huh! So I wanted to make sure I captured some moments of just the two of them dancing.

Melissa is one of my oldest friends and I was so happy when she asked me to photograph her special day in May. This last picture is the most recent picture I have of my three best friends from high school. We are all on different paths right now but these three girls will always mean so much to me.
