Brittany & Ryan

Brittany and Ryan are such a sweet and lovely couple. I was so excited when Brittany contacted us to photograph an engagement session and even more excited when she told me more about "their" story. I had Brittany write it out for me: "Both our dads were in the military and stationed in Cannon, New Mexico. Ryan and I were both in the same kindergarten class. He had a twin sister and she was my best friend. We would always play together and play house etc. Before first grade he moved to Mississippi and shortly after I moved to Italy. I never forgot him and he never forgot me. We both searched for each other when Facebook started and I finally found him my junior year. I learned he had moved to Tucson, Arizona. We remained friends never really thinking we could ever possibly date seeing how he was in Arizona and I was in Pennsylvania. Then I decided to join the Air Force after high school and learned of all the bases in the world I was stationed at the one in Phoenix Arizona. We both started to talk more about how he would come visit me and we could finally see each other after 17 years. So on a whim I flew from Mississippi to Arizona for a 4 day weekend and my life has never been the same since." See adorable. :)

Oliver's 1st Birthday Party

Can't believe that on April 5th our little man Oliver turned 1. It seems like yesterday that I was making this video (which by the way, totally just cried watching it again! haha) announcing that I was pregnant and then announcing that he was born. To say that this has been the greatest year is probably an understatement. He brings so much love and laughter into our home and he is such a little sweetheart. He really is the best! Oh, we just love him so much! So we had a little birthday party for him Easter weekend. It was kind of a crazy day with many family activities planned since my whole family was in town. So I am super grateful for the people that helped. Plus for my older sister for letting us use her awesome home. It was a Lumberjack/Forest theme since Oliver looks pretty adorable in plaid. Most of my ideas came from good ol' Pinterest, which by the way you can follow me here. Brandon made all the delicious food including the bbq chicken sliders, homemade smores marshmallow pops and mushroom decorated cupcakes. My sister and I made all the decorations and we thought of the shooting game for all my nieces and nephews to play. Oliver was pretty tired for his party (if you can't tell from his sleepy eyes in the photos) but he was a trooper and only cried once during opening presents. haha All around it was a really fun time and I am glad I got to be with my favorite family and friends celebrating Oliver's 1st year.
